MAINTAINING YOUR HUNTER MACHINE

A foundry man once stated, “When I buy a Hunter, I will get the industry’s most dependable machine, at maximum value for my dollar, and it will operate reliably for just as long as I want it to.” We’re going to discuss the “as long as I want it to” in this newsletter.

There was an excellent article in the October issue of Modern Castings by author, Alan Gambsky, titled “Predictive Maintenance Saves Money”. We think this information is so beneficial, we encourage you to read the entire article.

Mr. Gambsky uses vibration, ultrasound, infrared, motor circuit analysis, precision alignment, ultrasound assisted lubrication, and of course, oil analysis in the general execution of the PdM program. He stated that each one of these technologies unfolds into several more applications and opportunities for improvement or early repair. Mr. Gambsky is certified in vibration, ultrasound and infrared, and his assistant is certified in Vibration Analyst, and Ultrasound.

We encourage our customers to go beyond Reactive Maintenance, running to fail, or scheduled maintenance, to Predictive Maintenance. We believe it will result in your Hunter machine running “for as long as you want it to.” Thank you, Mr. Gambsky, for your work and research on this important subject.
